On the southern coast of Phillip Island there are some spectacular views. Rugged beaches, cliffs, rocks and greenery. One of the best short walks and views is Pyramid Rock Lookout.
This short but sweet 0.8 km there-and-back trail in Ventnor, Phillip Island, is well worth seeing. It usually takes 12 minutes to finish and is regarded as being simple. Although this is a well-liked walking and birding track, you can still find some peace and quiet during the slower periods of the day. The route is lovely to explore at any time of the year and is open all year. Due to the birdlife in the area, dogs are not allowed on this track.
The walk begins at the end of Pyramid Rock Road, where parking is available before hiking down to the breathtaking Bass Straight overlook.
The Bass Strait seas and the rocks are particularly stunning in the early morning or around nightfall. There are two viewing platforms, one of which may be used by those in wheelchairs.

Directions to Pyramid Rock Lookout
When you arrive at Phillip Island, drive through San Remo along Phillip Island Road and as you reach Sunset Strip, take a left at the roundabout onto Back Beach Road. Take a left onto Pyramid Rock Road and follow this for about 2.5 kilometres. There is a carpark at the end of this road where you will see the start of the track to Pyramid Rock Lookout.

Along the southern coast you’ll see great rugged beaches like Surf Beach and if you’re up for exploring, Cape Woolamai is another great place to explore the southern part of Phillip Island. If you want to enjoy the more sheltered north side, take a look at Red Rock Beach or take a nice walk in the wetlands at Rhyll Inlet.
